I am a primarily self-taught representational painter based in Farmington, Connecticut. Recently I’ve been exploring some abstract as well. I paint in both oils and watercolors.
My goal as an artist is to illustrate our profound and necessary relationship with nature. I feel as a culture we are becoming disassociated from the natural world. My desire is to urge you to reestablish an integration with nature and regain the special relationship of shared energy and life that nature supports us with.
Through my intimate perspective paintings, I hope to entice you to reestablish a deep relationship with nature. See your environment and realize how it can enrich your life.
I try to capture what most pass over with a glance. The complex structures formed in reflections of clouds or trees in a waterscape create imperceptible images that one’s mind must dissect to make sense of. When we take time to focus on our surroundings they offer an abundance of the sublime to our lives.
For oils I use DaVinci Pro Panels sealed with Golden GAC acrylic primer and gesso. My paints are non-toxic water- soluble oils (Winsor & Newton, Cobra and Holbein). I use Arches 140 lb watercolor paper, Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith and Holbein paints for my watercolors.
